On Thursday, April 25, members of our Brown Bag and 9 Story teams had the pleasure of attending Sheridan Animation Industry Day. The annual event kicked off in the morning, at Sheridan’s Trafalgar campus, located in Oakville, Ontario. 

Hosted by the Sheridan’s Faculty of Animation, Art & Design, the industry directed showcase brings together students and professionals in the fields of animation, game design, and visual effects and highlights the amazing work of graduates from Sheridan’s Honours Bachelor of Animation program.

Representing our Brown Bag Films Toronto studio was Head of Art and Design Natasha Sasic, joined by 9 Story’s Sanatan Suryavanshi, Head of Art on the studio’s development team. Our duo reported that they had a fantastic experience at the full day event, where they had the opportunity to speak with Sheridan’s program faculty, catch up with fellow industry colleagues, and meet with this year's exceptionally talented graduates and watch their stellar work on the big screen.

This year, our studio had the wonderful honour of sponsoring three of Sheridan’s Academic Awards. We also had the esteemed privilege of helping to choose the winners of our Brown Bag Films sponsored awards. 

Congratulations to Abbey Collings on their win for Most Promising Director for their film “Ronny: A Crocumentary” and to Alonso Carrillo who scooped up Best Production Design, and finally to Jeremy Tsujita for winning Best 2D Character Animation for “Peach Boy.” 

And of course, to all this year’s award winners, and Sheridan graduates! We wish the class of 2024 the best of luck in all their future endeavors and can’t wait to see what you create next!
