Lu is a little ladybird who has just started preschool with her new friends. Together they explore their brand new social lives through play, music, big feelings and even bigger fun.

The 2D animated preschool comedy Lu & The Bally Bunch is created and directed by Brown Bag Films' Nicky Phelan. The series, which was inspired by Nicky's mother’s experience running a preschool, celebrates the messy reality of preschool and explores the everyday dramas of first friendships. Lu & The Bally Bunch is a funny and affectionate look at Lu and her friends as they learn to get along.

Featuring original songs and grounded in a curriculum of preschool empowerment, stories are rooted in authentic interactions and experiences, inspired by conversations with preschoolers, their parents and teachers. The show blends slice-of-life storytelling with humor, music, and emotional intelligence, making it a celebration of friendship and early childhood experiences.

The voice cast includes Freya McLaughlin as Lu, Marcus Power as Declan, Joy Tú Clarke as Biba, Leo Tobin as Barnaby, Alice Helenport as Elodie, Kolby McDonald as Gus and Aileen Mythen as Shella.

Lu & The Bally Bunch first premiered internationally in March 2023 and has since aired across multiple networks and streamers including Cartoonito, CBeebies, ABC Kids, RTÉjr, TVNZ+, and CBC.
