Nature Cat follows a cat named Fred, who dreams of exploring the great outdoors. Of course, there’s one small problem: he’s a house cat with no instincts for nature! With the help of his animal friends, Nature Cat embarks on action-packed adventures that include exciting missions full of nature investigation, “aha” discovery moments and a healthy dose of humour.

Nature Cat is created by the Emmy® award winning creative team at Spiffy Pictures and co-produced by Spiffy Pictures and WTTW Chicago. The series, created by twin brothers Adam and David Rudman (Jack’s Big Music Show, Bunnytown), encourages kids ages 3–8 to explore nature and the environment through humor, music, and engaging storytelling.

The voice cast features an all-star lineup, including Taran Killam as Nature Cat, Kate McKinnon as Squeeks, Kate Micucci as Daisy, and Bobby Moynihan as Hal, with additional voices by Kenan Thompson, Chris Knowings, and Chris Parnell. Music is composed by Bill Sherman, with theme vocals by Taran Killam and Christopher Jackson.

The series premiered in November 2015 as the highest rated PBS KIDS’ premiere in the network's history.
